This study critically examines the persistent disparity between the theological ideal of womanhood and the practical reality of women’s participation within the Church in Igboland, Nigeria. Framed by the potent mantra that “the level of any civilisation or Church is determined by the level of its womanhood.” The research investigates the entrenched cultural, historical, and theological prejudices that have led to the systemic neglect and marginalization of women, limiting their roles despite their overwhelming numerical presence and potentialities.
